The NovaOS Files app is a default app stored in the Apps/ directory. Files app allows you to quickly and efficiently manage, view, import and create files in and to the local NovaOS filesystem.

Top Navigation
The normal files app top navigation consists of a bunch of tools to manage, view and interact with the folder you are in. The tools include,
Search: search a file in the root directory.
Delete: delete the current folder
Folder: create a new folder in any directory.
New file: create a new file in the current folder.
Parent: Go to the parent directory.
Grid View / List view: switch files list layout.
Path
This is the path that shows the folder you are currently in. Click on any section within the path to navigate directly to that folder.
Folder Tree
The folder tree is a list of folders in your file system. Click the names to view the folder's contents. You can also browser subfolders by double clicking the folder name or by using the chevron located left of the item.
You can hide the tree by clicking on the chevron left on the top right corner of the tree section.
Creating a file
To create a file, click the 'New File' button in the Top navigation. Enter a file name along with the file extension in the prompt.
Finding a file
Click the desired folder name where the file is located
If the file is inside a subfolder, double click the subfolder in the file list on the right.
To select the desired file, click on it.
Managing a file
To select the desired file, click on it.
After clicking the file, the Top Navigation panel would get replaced with a ton of file management buttons.
The file management buttons include
Open: to open / launch a file.
Delete: to delete a file.
Open in: open the file with an unregistered application.
Rename: rename the file.
Copy ID: copy the 12-digit ID of the file included on its creation.
Move: move the file to a different folder or subfolder.
Shortcut: Create an LNK file that works as a shortcut in the Dock/.
Click the 'Refresh' button on the far left to close the file management buttons window.
Importing a file
Click the 'Import' button on the top right corner of the screen.
